Bob Cleminson

As the anchor of I UP's offensive line from 1955-58, Bob Cleminson was as steady as they come. Cleminson, a three-year starting center, was described by his teammates as someone who had a great presence on the field to go along with great character and work ethic.

A four-time letterman in football. Cleminson was named to the NAIA All-America team as a sophomore in 1956.

Cleminson earned second team all-district honors as a senior in 1958 when he was invited to play in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala .. which he was unfortunately unable to attend. That same year he was team captain. honorable mention all-state and recorded 18 tackles against Carnegie Tech.

In addition to his responsibilities on the offensive l ine. Cleminson was also a middle linebacker. He never
missed a game in his career and very rarely did he miss more than a few minutes of action in a game.

An Aliquippa native who played on a WPIAL championship team at Aliquippa High School, Cleminson also played on the IUP baseball team during the 1956 and 1957 seasons.

Cleminson worked in marketing for Exxon Mobil from 1963-95. He then took a position with the Habitat for Humanity in Venice, Fla .. from 1997-
2000 and was fundrai sing chairman for the Nelson City Habitat for Humani ty from 2001-05.

Since 2001 , he has been a first responder for Wintergreen Rescue and Fire.

Cleminson and his wife Bobbie are the parents of Bill. Barrie and Brad. The couple has six grandchildren.
