Tennis is a very binary game. You’re either in the lines, or you’re out. Achieving excellence requires skill and concentration, especially when playing such an unforgiving game.
Brad Hanes knew this to be true, and achieved a record of outstanding play by living up to it. He finished second in state competition two years in men’s singles and doubles. He achieved a top-30 ranking nationally in the NCAA Division II men’s tennis listing. Hanes racked up a record during his junior and senior years at IUP of 64 wins and 1 loss.
The Wexford (PA) resident attended North Hills High School in Pittsburgh, before earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from IUP in 1988, and a master’s in business administration and finance from the University of Pittsburgh in 1991. Today, he serves as vice president of institutional sales with Muhlenkamp & Co., Inc. He and his wife, Nicole, have three children, Amanda, Braden, and Kendall.
