A two-sport athlete at Indiana State Teacher’s College (ISTC), Bizyak was a four-year letterman in both basketball and baseball during his time on campus.
A starter during his final two years on the court, he was a co-captain as a senior as he averaged 17.6 points per game, helping his squad to a 25-3 overall record. Because of his efforts, Bizyak was a first team all- conference and honorable mention all-state selection as a senior. He also set the school record for most points in a national tournament game with 31.
Bizyak started all four years on the baseball diamond, taking his spot as the clean-up hitter each season. As a sophomore he led the team with a .405 batting average.
After graduation, Bizyak worked as a territorial sales manager. He and his wife Lois have two sons, Brent and Jay.
