Some folks, once they get a chance, can really run with it and make it something truly special. Just ask John Angelo.
For 18 years, Angelo served as manager of the IUP football team. For seven of those years, he performed the same function for the IUP basketball team. Working alongside coaches including George Chaump, Frank Cignetti, Kurt Kanaskie, and Gary Edwards, he performed his duties with diligence, pride, and an ever-focused effort.
Angelo also earned a gold and a silver medal in golf, as part of the Pennsylvania Special Olympics Summer Games. The Indiana, PA, native attended Indiana Area High School. Angelo currently resides in Indiana.Today, he works as a store assistant at Gatti Pharmacy in Indiana. His service-related activities include membership and board involvement with the Kiwanis Club, the Knights of Columbus, ARC of Indiana County, and ARC of Pennsylvania. Angelo also volunteers with St. Vincent dePaul Thrift Store, Indian Haven Nursing Home, and the University Parish of St. Thomas More.
