Marissa Dugan was a key part of the first two NCAA tournament teams in the history of the softball program. A four-time All-PSAC selection, she helped IUP to a combined 30 conference victories and two NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional tournament berths in 1999 and 2000.
A hard-hitting outfielder, Dugan put together some of the best offensive seasons in program history. As a senior, she led the team with a .363 batting average, eight homeruns, 43 runs batted in and a .630 slugging percentage. Both the homerun and RBI totals and slugging percentage marks were school records as she was named first team all-conference for the second time in her career.
At the time of her graduation, Dugan ranked first or second at IUP in 12 career offensive categories and still ranks in the top five in six of those categories today.
