A 1984 graduate of Reading High School, Goodwin West was a member of the 1888 and 1989 National Champion squads at IUP. She was also a two-time individual national champion, taking gold in the Floor Exercise in 1988 and in the Balance Beam in 1989.
Prior to attending IUP, Goodwin West was a member of the US Women’s Gymnastics Team from 1981-1984 and a two-time World Championship team member. Goodwin West spent 11 years teaching deaf and hard of hearing students at the elementary and middle school levels. She currently teaches reading and language arts to middle school students with special needs.
Michelle and her husband Lance are parents to Savanna and Alexandra West.
