Nick Pascarella was an inside linebacker for IUP during the late 80’s. He was a tackling machine and hounded the opposing team for multiple years.
Pascarella was awarded the Richard A. Smith Memorial Award for most outstanding defensive player in 1989 and 1990. He also received All-PSAC West first team honors for both of those seasons as well.
He currently owns the record for the 12th longest interception return in program history with a 69-yard touchdown against Slippery Rock in 1989. Pascarella helped the Indians to a NCAA Division II national runner-up finish in 1990, where he set an IUP record for most tackles in a postseason game with 18.
Pascarella graduated from IUP in 1991 with a degree in business. He and his wife Robin have three children, Chloe, Nicky and Marco.
