Pawel Glowiak made an immediate splash in the pool after arriving at IUP from Poland and finished his career as an eight-time All-American.
Glowiak set numerous school records during his years with the Crimson Hawks, and his time of 49.34 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke—set in a preliminary heat at the NCAA meet in 2009—still stands.

A member of the Polish national team for five years, Glowiak quickly made a name for himself at IUP. He was selected the PSAC Rookie of the Year as a freshman after finishing eighth in the 100 back at nationals and 15th in the 200 back to earn his first two All-America honors.

He won the first of his four career PSAC titles in the 100 back in 2007 and then capped his sophomore season by claiming three more All-America citations after a fifth-place performance in the 200 back and a pair of 15ths in the 200 back and 200 individual medley.

As a junior, Glowiak captured two more PSAC titles in the 100 and 200 back and finished second in the 200 IM. At nationals he finished sixth in the 100 butterfly in a school-record 49.77 and was 15th in the 200 back.

Glowiak won his third consecutive PSAC 100 back championship in 2009 and wrapped up his career with a seventh-place finish in the event at the NCAA meet. He earned PSAC Top 10 Awards in both 2008 and 2009 in recognition of his excellence in the pool and the classroom.

A vice president with Wells Fargo in Philadelphia, Glowiak resides in Swedesboro, N.J., with his significant other, Alexis Fiorella, and their 6-year-old daughter, Lexi.
