Ron McNabb

Ron McNabb began his time at IUP playing under head coach Carl Davis and finished in as one of the best passers in IUP history. Upon graduation in 1983, his 340 career assists ranked fourth all-time, as he sat alongside future Hall of Famers Mont Mattocks and Jim DeMark. 

McNabb has two of the top-assist games in school history, dishing out 13 in 1979 and 12 in 1980. As a senior during the 1982-83 season, he led IUP in scoring, assists and minutes played, and also flashed his talents on the defensive end, setting a then-school record of 49 steals. Along with four varsity letters, McNabb was also Pittsburgh Post-Gazette All-District Team. 

McNabb was the head basketball coach at Valley High School where he was named WPIAL Coach of the Year in 1985. He also coached Burrell High School to the WPIAL playoffs multiple times and is currently at Knoch High School, leading them to a section championship last season. 

McNabb has spent 25 years teaching at the South Butler School District. He and his wife Kris have three children, Dylan, Austyn nd Aubrey.
