INDIANAPOLIS – The IUP women's volleyball team is ranked No. 3 in the first NCAA Division II numerical rankings, released Wednesday.
The Crimson Hawks (17-6) are coming off a split last weekend, falling to Clarion and defeating Slippery Rock, both on the road.
IUP enters the final weekend of the PSAC regular season with two more road matchups. On Friday, the Crimson Hawks will travel to Greensburg to face Cal (Pa.), ranked No. 9 in the Atlantic Region, before taking on Seton Hill, ranked No. 7 in the region.
IUP is the second-highest ranked team from the PSAC West, trailing only Gannon, which swept the Crimson Hawks in both meetings this season. Shippensburg, at 20-6, is the top-ranked team from the PSAC East.
The Crimson Hawks are 4-4 in matches against teams ranked in the region, with two more opportunities this weekend.
