Leo Acklin and Cory Stelick were the top two individual finishers to lead IUP to its second consecutive PSAC golf championship with a 13-stroke victory at the Hershey Links Golf Course.

The Crimson Hawks shot a two-day team score of 580 to easily outdistance runner-up Clarion. California finished third at 621, followed by Millersville (636), Gannon (638), West Chester (647) and Mercyhurst (655). IUP led Clarion by seven shots after the first round on Saturday.

Acklin and Stelick were tied after both players fired an opening round 69, but Acklin followed that up with an even par 72 on Sunday to take medalist honors. His two-day score of 141 was three ahead of Stelick.

Gavin Smith, who was the medalist a year ago when he was the PSAC Player of the Year, finished fifth at 149. Brad Boyle (150) tied for sixth and Ryan Kennedy (152) was 10th.

IUP has won eight of the past 12 PSAC championships and 22 in school history. Including wins at events hosted by Allegheny, California and Mercyhurst the Crimson Hawks have taken first place at their past four tournaments.

The PSAC tournament concludes the fall season for IUP. The Crimson Hawks return to action for the spring season, which includes the NCAA Super Regional and national tournaments, in March.
