INDIANA, PA - IUP has announced its 2014 Athletics Hall of Fame induction class. The class of 17 individuals will be inducted at a ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 27 prior to the Crimson Hawks' home football game against Mercyhurst.
The public event, which will be held in the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex, will start with a reception at 10:45 a.m. followed by the induction luncheon at 11:30 a.m.
The 17 inductees include: Sue Brecko (women's basketball); Jerry Clark (football and baseball); Marissa Dugan (softball); Terry Eisenhute (men's golf); Gene Epley (football); Pat Imbrogno (football); Jack Flavin (baseball); Scott Green (men's track & field); Julie Hess (field hockey); Ron McNabb (men's basketball); Heather Packard (women's swimming); Nick Pascarella (football); Dr. Robert Raemore (track & field); Sara Raschiatore (women's cross country and track & field); Gregg Schmidt (football); Je'Mone Smith (football); Anthony Zambotti (baseball).
The new inductees bring the total to 216 former athletes, coaches and administrators who have made significant contributions to IUP athletics and have enhanced its image and reputation and are now enshrined in the IUP Athletics Hall of Fame.
The football game against Mercyhurst is scheduled for a 4 p.m. kickoff from Frank Cignetti Field at George P. Miller Stadium. The inductees will also be publicly honored at halftime of the game.

2002 Julie Hess - Field HockeyThree-time first team All-PSAC... PSAC Rookie of the Year (1999)... Career record holder with 54 goals.

1983 Ron McNabb - Men's BasketballFourth all-time at IUP in assists (340) at time of graduation... Second most assists in single game school history (13).
1999 Heather Packard - Women's SwimmingMultiple All-American and PSAC Individual Champion... A part of winning 400 Free Relay team which helped clinch 1999 PSAC Team Championship.
1990 Nick Pascarella - FootballTwo-time first team All-PSAC... Linebacker on Division II national runner-up team in 1990.
Dr. Robert Raemore - Track and Field (Deceased)Head IUP Track & Field coach 1980-84... Assistant track & field coach 1973-80, 84-2008... Coached three national champions, current PSAC mile relay record holding team (1977).
2003 Sara Raschiatore - Women's Track & Field and Cross CountryTwo-time PSAC Cross Country Athlete of the Year... Three-time PSAC Cross Country Champion... Five-time PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Champion.
1978 Gregg Schmidt - Football177 tackles as a senior are still all-time single season IUP record... First team All-PSAC, second team AP All-American.
1994 Je'Mone Smith - FootballTwo-time first team All-PSAC... Wide Receiver on Division II national runner-up team in 1993... Played in NFL for Philadelphia Eagles.
2003 Anthony Zambotti - BaseballPSAC West Pitcher of the Year (2003)... 332 career strikeouts are first all-time at IUP and second in PSAC history.
The above 17 inductees will be joined by Bill Betts, this year's Honorary Bell Ringer Award recipient.
UPDATE: Added to this year's class are former IUP greats Trevor Gladden and
Chris Villarrial. Gladden played soccer at IUP from 1979-80, leading his team to the NAIA national tournament and was named the program's first All-American. Villarrial was a two-time All-American offensive guard who would go on to have his No. 75 football jersey retired and played nine seasons in the NFL. There will now be 19 former IUP student-athletes and coaches inducted on Sept. 27.
