INDIANA, Pa. – IUP's 2016 season opening game at East Stroudsburg on September 10 will be broadcast live by the SPORTSfever Television Network as part of their College Football "Game of the Week" programming. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. at the Warriors' Eiler-Martin Stadium.
SPORTSfever Network is planning to air 15 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) football games during the season, which begins this weekend with Cheyney at Lincoln, and culminates on November 12 with the conference championship game at the home of the Western Division winner.
"We are excited to have put together an outstanding schedule of games from our participating universities in the PSAC, and especially to be announcing that we will be airing the PSAC Championship game on November 12 through our network affiliates," said Gorden Blain, president of SPORTSfever.
"We had 1.3 million total viewers through our affiliates a year ago - more than double the number of viewers in 2014. We expect the PSAC brand to continue to benefit on a regional and national basis and for the audience to continue to climb. No NCAA Division II football conference has had more games air nationally by STN on ESPN3 – 28 – the past two seasons than the PSAC."
Last year's IUP-Slippery Rock rivalry matchup was featured on STN and broadcast live.
STN has televised 99 college football games since 2007 and its games have generated more than five million viewers. STN reaches more than 18 million households. Last year, with 17 live games and 16 additional replays, the SPORTSfever TV Network College football "Game of the Week" had 1.3 million viewers. In addition, ESPN3 has been a big addition to the live network, with games viewed in a variety of ways, including most handheld or portable devices as well as ESPN Game plan and more. The Millersville at Clarion game in 2015 had over 14,000 unique viewers alone.
SPORTSfever TV affiliates include ESPN3 nationally, Sinclair Broadcasting TV Stations WHP-Harrisburg, WPNT-Pittsburgh and WJAC-Johnstown, Blue Ridge Cable Network, The Comcast Network Mid-Atlantic region, Fox Sports Ohio, Tribune Broadcasting TV Station WPHL-Philadelphia; Nexstar Broadcasting TV Stations WBRE-Wilkes Barre/Scranton, WETM-Elmira and WHAG- Hagerstown, and Independent station WYLN-Hazleton.
