Bartley finished the weekend with a three-under 139, entering the clubhouse on Saturday with an even-par 72. He becomes the 15th IUP golfer since 1993 to earn medalist honors at the PSAC Championships, and joined last year's champion
Max Kirsch (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) as back-to-back individual title winners.
It's Bartley's second ever individual collegiate victory.
The Crimson Hawks were also successful in repeating as champions after taking home the crown last year. IUP shot a seven-over 291 on Sunday, rallying from a three stroke deficit after the opening round to best second place California (Pa.) by five strokes. The Vulcans held an opening round lead with a 15-over 299 on Saturday.
IUP finished with a 25-over 593 for the tournament, as Cal trailed with a 598 and Millersville finished third with a 601. The Marauders 11-over 295 on Sunday was the second best round score of the tournament, behind the Crimson Hawks' 291 in the second.
The championship is the 28th for IUP since 1957, by far the most of any school in the PSAC. The Crimson Hawks have won eight conference championships since 2007, including six straight from 2007-12. IUP has won back-to-back league titles 14 times in its illustrious history. It's IUP's 11th title since 2000.
It wasn't just Bartley who excelled this weekend, as all five Crimson Hawks finished in the top 25 overall. Nathan Guerrini and
Matt Cocorikis (Monroe Twp., N.J./Monroe Twp.) tied each other for sixth overall with eight-over 150;
Jeremy Eckenrode (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) tied for 14th at 12-over 154; and
Michael Hoare (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) finished in 23rd place with a 16-over 158.
All five golfers also wrapped up the opening round in the top 25 overall.
Guerrini and Cocorikis each shot a two-over 74 in the second round, while Eckenrode shot a four-over 76 and Hoare a five-over 77.
This win wraps up the fall season for the Crimson Hawks, who finished in the top five in all five of their tournaments.
