Men's basketball senior guard Brandon Norfleet has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, January 10. It's his second straight weekly award and fourth of the season.
Norfleet averaged 22.5 points, 4.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game in leading the Crimson Hawks to a pair of victories - 78-56 over Millersville and 89-71 over Slippery Rock. He also shot 50.0 percent (17-of-34) from the field and 57.1 percent (4-of-7) from three-point range.Â
His highlight came in Saturday's home game against Slippery Rock, scoring a game-high 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting, also dishing out five assists in 39 minutes. It was Norfleet's ninth game of 20-plus points, including five of 26 or more, as he extended his streak to 16 games to start the season reaching double-figures in scoring.Â
For the season, Norfleet is averaging 21.1 points, 4.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game as the Crimson Hawks are 11-5 overall and 8-3 in the PSAC.Â
