IUP Sports Medicine

It is the goal of the IUP Sports Medicine Department to provide optimal care to the varsity athletes who sustain injuries as a result of participation in supervised competitions and practices.

The Sports Medicine Department serves as a medical resource for varsity athletes, coaches and administrators on matters pertaining to the field of sports medicine.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

The Sports Medicine Department has developed various policies and procedures to help streamline the care of the athlete.

Required Sports Medicine Forms - All IUP athletes are required to provide medical and insurance information to the Sports Medicine Department. On this page, you will find out what forms must be completed prior to participation with an IUP athletics team.

IUP Athletics Emergency Action Plan - Updated for 2024-25

MENTAL HEALTH

In case of an emergency: dial 911, go to the Indiana Regional Medical Center, contact University Police at 724-357-2141, or call the Armstrong-Indiana Crisis Hotline at 1-877-333-2470.

  • The IUP Counseling Center - We get it. The transition to college can be tough! The IUP Counseling Center is here to help. Wondering how to get started? The Counseling Center is available by phone (724-357-2621) or email (counseling-center@iup.edu) Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.– 4:30 p.m. In your email, write, “Hi, I’m interested in scheduling an appointment.” You will receive a response from the department secretary with scheduling options.

  • IUP Emergency Operations Plan - The Emergency Operations Plan is a step-by-step guide explaining the university’s official course of action in the event of an emergency situation, incident, or disaster. The EOP has bee developed as a guide for reacting to major emergencies and disasters that may have the potential to cause significant disruption to the normal operation of IUP campuses.
