Selected by the
PSAC's sports information directors, the
PSAC Top 10 Awards recognize student-athletes who distinguish themselves in the classroom, as well as in the arena of competition. A total of 10 student-athletes - five men and five women - are chosen after each sports season; fall, winter and spring. To be a candidate for the Top 10 Award, a student-athlete must have achieved a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (as of fall 2009 awards) and must be a starter or key reserve with legitimate athletic credentials.Â
Among IUP student-athletes, Paige Mikesell (women's swimming & diving) holds the department record with four PSAC Top 10 awards.Â
Molly Carr (women's basketball, softball), Austin Cooper (men's track & field), Laura Hall (women's volleyball)Â and Sean Strauman (men's track & field) have three PSAC Top 10 honors.Â
