LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – IUP senior linebacker Damon Lloyd was named to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Fall Top 10 Team, announced by the league office Friday afternoon.
 
Initiated in the 1997-98 academic year, the PSAC Top 10 Awards are designed to recognize student-athletes who excel in both the classroom and in athletic competition. The Top 10 Award is selected by the conference's sports information directors and given to five males and five females in each athletic season: fall, winter and spring.
 
After the fall semester Lloyd carries a 3.53 cumulative grade point average as an exercise science major. He wrapped up his playing career this fall as one of the greatest linebackers in IUP history as a two-time All-American with 384 total tackles.
 
Lloyd was named a finalist for the Cliff Harris Award, given annually to the best defensive player in small college football. He earned PSAC West Defensive Player of the Year honors, was a unanimous first team All-Super Region One selection, and finished seventh in Division II with a career-high 122 total tackles.
 
IUP and the PSAC Top 10 award
Lloyd becomes the 60th IUP student-athlete to earn PSAC Top 10 honors in the 23-year history of the award. The 60 total selections is third all-time behind Shippensburg (71) and Slippery Rock (66).
 
Lloyd is the fifth IUP football player to earn PSAC Top 10 honors and the first since Anthony DiPasquale in 2012. Mike Borisenko (1999, 2000), Josh Telenko (2002, 2003) and Anthony Celliltti (2006, 2007) were each two-time winners of the award.
