The IUP Athletics Department is committed to building nationally competitive athletic programming by providing a premier student-athlete experience with championship-level resources necessary to compete in the field of play, in the classroom, and in our community.
With that vision in mind, it is essential for IUP varsity programs to recruit and develop high-caliber student-athletes; those who can excel in all phases of life and athletic competition. In order to be successful, it is paramount that we continue to work towards delivering a premiere student-athlete experience that includes excellent academic and collaborative support services, competitive operating resources, and first-rate athletic facilities and accommodations for competition, practice, training, recovery and nutrition.
Our student-athletes come to campus from all areas of the state, from across the country, and different parts of the world. They boast diverse backgrounds, cultures, experiences, and are attracted to the IUP campus and athletic experience due to the academics, promise of social growth, and opportunity to compete for and win championships. This is made possible by the philanthropic support we receive from former student-athletes, external constituents, and our university.
With more of our varsity programs competing on the national level, combined with the addition of numerous outside events each year, a direct economic impact will be felt by our department, the university, and the Indiana community, and can serve as a point of pride for our IUP alumni.
