Senior basketball player Brandon Norfleet has been named an IUP Athletes of the Week in an announcement made Monday for the week ending on Sunday, January 31.
Norfleet continued to lead the offense for IUP, winners of 10 straight games and alone atop the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West division with a 13-3 record. In games last week at California (Pa.) and at home vs. Gannon, Norfleet scored 25 and 22 points, respectively, in the pair of wins.
Against Cal on a national ESPN3 audience, Norfleet, an Athlete of the Week now for the fifth-consecutive week, also added six rebounds, five assists and blocked two shots. On the year, he’s shooting 49 percent from the floor, 45.1 percent on 3-point field goals and 80 percent from the free throw line for the Crimson Hawks, who are 16-5 overall.Â
