Senior basketball player Marina Wareham has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week for the second time in her career in an announcement made Monday for the week ending on Sunday, Feb. 7.
 
After dropping a game Wednesday at Mercyhurst, Wareham rebounded from her previous three games in which she made just three shots for eight points to score a career-high 24 points in Saturday’s 73-60 win over Edinboro. She’s an Athlete of the Week
 
Wareham shot 9-of-12 from the field and made six-of-eight from behind the 3-point line to raise her average on long balls to 42.7 percent. The six jumpers ties Wareham for second in IUP history for most 3-pointers in a game. The point guard also handed out six assists Saturday and grabbed four rebounds.
 
On the year, Wareham is fifth among qualified players in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in assists-to-turnover ratio and 10th in assists per game for the Crimson Hawks, who are 16-6 overall and 13-5 in the PSAC West Division.
