In the last week of play, IUP opponents have recorded a dismal .119 hitting percentage with the help of Kelly Barnes' strong defensive play. She completed an outstanding performance against the Pride of Slippery Rock, recording 27 digs and one service ace, all without committing a single error.Earlier in the week, she posted equally as impressive numbers, registering 20 digs, one service ace, one kill and two assists, again with no errors, in a four-set win over PSAC rival Edinboro. She also had 13 digs and an assist in the team's straight-set win over non-conference foe Shepherd. A senior leader on the team, Barnes leads the Crimson Hawks in digs with 321 in 93 sets played. She is currently averaging 3.45 digs per set. Barnes was also named the PSAC West Volleyball Athlete of the Week.
