INDIANA, Pa. – Senior lacrosse player Amy Weinberg has been named an IUP Athletes of the Week in an announcement made Monday for the week ending on Sunday, March 20.
Weinberg led the Crimson Hawks to a pair of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference wins, totaling 11 points on two goals and nine assists. Her 11 points were the most on the team for the two-game stretch.
In IUP’s 18-5 rout of Gannon Tuesday, Weinberg tacked on three of her four assists in the second half as the Crimson Hawks put the finishing touches on the team’s PSAC-opening game. On Saturday, Weinberg totaled five assists and two goals in the Crimson Hawks’ 15-12 victory.
Weinberg is the team-leader with 37 points and 31 assists, which rank second and first, respectively, in the PSAC.
