Freshman Claudia Menes was named one of two IUP Athletes of the Week on Monday, for the week ending on Sunday, May 1. 

Menes earns her first career IUP weekly award after going a combined 5-1 in the Crimson Hawks' three PSAC tournament matches last week. She went a perfect 3-0 in singles play, including a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Mercyhurst's Kayla Frost, the 12th-ranked player in the Atlantic Region.
 
She also went 2-1 in doubles action as she helped IUP to the program's sixth straight PSAC championship match. Menes leads the team with a 26-4 singles record and has 45 combined wins on the year.
