Junior receiver Allen Wright has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week, for the week ending on Sunday, October 16. This is Wright's first IUP weekly award of the year and the second for his career.Â
Wright had a huge day in the Crimson Hawks' 48-19 thrashing of 16th-ranked Slippery Rock on Saturday, catching six passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns. He didn't wait long to make an impact, catching a pass and outracing the SRU defense for an 89-yard touchdown on IUP's first play of the game.Â
The 89-yarder is tied for the second longest pass play in IUP history. He also caught a 31-yard pass and had a 51-yard touchdown reception in the first half alone.Â
In his last two games, Wright has 13 catches for 282 yards, 22 rushing yards, and three total touchdowns.Â
