Junior running back Chris Temple has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week, for the week ending on Sunday, November 13. This is Temple's first IUP weekly award of the year and fourth of his career.
Temple played a key role in the 11th-ranked Crimson Hawks' 42-13 win over Bloomsburg on Saturday. The back ran for a season-high 167 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries. 164 of those yards came in the first half as IUP got out to a 21-6 lead at the break, including scoring runs of 11, 20 and 43 yards.
Temple has rushed for 491 yards and eight touchdowns, and is averaging 6.9 yards per rush, in the last four games.
