Sophomore men's basketball forward Jacobo Diaz has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week, for the week ending on Sunday, January 22. It's his third IUP weekly award of the season.
Diaz averaged a double-double last week, helping the 10th-ranked Crimson Hawks to wins over California (PA) and Clarion. Diaz scored 13.5 points and grabbed 11.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 40.0 percent from three-point range and 83.3 percent from the foul line.
He scored 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting, including three three-pointers, in a home win over Cal, barely missing a double-double with nine rebounds. Diaz did post a double-double, his eighth of the season, with 11 points and 13 rebounds at Clarion.
