Sophomore women's basketball guard Carolyn Appleby was named an IUP Athlete of the Week, for the week ending on Sunday, January 29. It's her first career IUP weekly award.

Appleby averaged a team-best 20.5 points as she helped lead the Crimson Hawks to a pair of road victories over Seton Hill and Gannon last week. The point guard scored a career-high 24 points in the return to her hometown of Greensburg on Wednesday, hitting 5-of-8 three-pointers in a 21-point victory over the Griffins.

She then scored a game-high 17 points on Saturday, helping the Crimson Hawks dig out of a 29-12 second quarter deficit for a comeback 62-57 win over the Lady Knights.
