Senior pole vaulter Liz Coppella has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week, for the week ending on Sunday, March 26.

Coppella broke her own IUP outdoor pole vault record during Saturday's Early Bird Invitational at California (Pa.), clearing 3.75 meters. The height was also an NCAA provisional qualifying mark, is the best in the PSAC and sixth best in Division II this season. 

This is Coppella's third career IUP weekly award, and her second of the 2016-17 year.
