Senior outside hitter Natalie Cignetti has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week, which was announced by the sports information office on Tuesday, September 5.
Cignetti helped the IUP women's volleyball program to a 3-1 start, totaling 41 kills, 36 digs and six service aces in the season-opening tournament. Her kills, kills per set (3.42), aces, points (48.5) and points per set (4.04), and hitting percentage (.263) numbers were all team highs.
Her best outing came in the three-set win over Ursuline, as she totaled 15 kills on 38 attacks (.342) with 14 digs and an ace. Cignetti also had 12 kills and 10 digs against Roberts Wesleyan.
It's Cignetti's first IUP weekly honor of 2017 and the fourth of her career.
