Redshirt junior quarterback Lenny Williams, Jr. has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week, which was announced by the sports information office on Monday, September 11.
Williams helped lead the Crimson Hawks to a dominating 38-14 win over East Stroudsburg on Saturday, throwing for 283 yards and two touchdowns as IUP piled up 607 yards of total offense. The third-year starter completed 15-of-20 passes (75 percent), with six of those completions going for 20-or-more yards, including a 69-yard touchdown pass to redshirt sophomore receiver Dom McNeil. He added 32 rushing yards on seven carries.
For the year, Williams has completed 63.8 percent of his passes (37-for-58) for 513 yards, four touchdowns and one interception.
It's Williams' first IUP weekly honor of the year, and the sixth of his career.
