Senior cross country runner Greg Beaudette has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week, which was announced by the sports information office on Monday, October 23.
Beaudette also turned in a successful performance at a championship level, finishing fourth overall at the 2017 PSAC Men's Cross Country Championships in California, Pa. on Saturday. The Crimson Hawks finished third as a team.
Beaudette led a group of three IUP runners who finished in the top 10 individually, as the senior ran a 26:46.3 on the 8K course. His time was just 19 seconds behind individual champion Austin Pondel of Edinboro. It was Beaudette's best career finish at the PSAC Championships.
This is Beaudette's third career IUP weekly honor, and the first of the fall season.
