Graduate wide receiver Chris Wuestner has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week, which was announced by the sports information office on Monday, October 30
Wuestner is coming off a career game in which he caught seven passes for 75 yards and three touchdowns, as he helped the fourth-ranked IUP football squad to the program’s 21st PSAC West title with a 42-26 win over Gannon on Senior Day.
Wuestner caught two of his career-high three touchdowns in the second quarter, helping the Crimson Hawks get out to a 28-0 lead at halftime. His first score was a 24-yard pass play, as a scrambling Lenny Williams, Jr. found Wuestner who sprinted down the right sideline and crossed goal line and held onto the football while being hit at the pylon.
It's his first career IUP weekly honor.
