Senior setter Katie Miller has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week, which was announced by the sports information office on Monday, Nov. 13.
Miller was a standout for the Crimson Hawks on the court as IUP won its three biggest matches of the season, all over divisional opponents – 3-0 over Clarion, 3-0 over California, and 3-1 over Seton Hill. That final match came on Saturday afternoon and was a winner-take-all for the regular season division crown.
The distributor of the IUP offense, Miller finished with 113 assists during the week, averaging 11.3 assists per set. Her biggest performance came on Saturday, as she finished with 51 assists, a career-high six service aces, 10 digs and five kills. The 51 assists were her second most in a four-set match this season.
This is the second IUP weekly honor for Miller - the PSAC-leader in assists per set at 11.13 – in the last three weeks.
