Junior guard Dante Lombardi has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week, which was announced by the IUP Sports Information Office Monday, Feb. 19.
Lombardi achieved a career milestone Saturday night, going over the 1,000-point mark in the Crimson Hawks' 82-75 win over California (Pa.). Lombardi finished with 19 points Saturday going 6-of-13 from the field, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range, and 4-of-5 from the foul line.
He averaged 17.3 points and 5.3 assists per game with a 2-1 assist-to-turnover ratio as the Crimson Hawks went 2-1 last week. He scored 20 points at Clarion, helping IUP to one of the best 3-point performances in program history by making 4-of-5 from beyond the arc.
This is Lombardi's second IUP weekly honor of his career, each coming in the last four weeks.
