Senior quarterback Lenny Williams Jr and freshman swimmer
Paige Mikesell were named IUP Athletes of the Week, announced by the IUP Sports Information Office Monday afternoon.
This is Williams' 11th career IUP weekly award and the first for the freshman Mikesell.
Williams totaled 352 yards and four touchdowns to help the 23rd-ranked Crimson Hawks to a 43-34 win at Gannon Saturday. The signal caller finished 18-of-28 passing for 232 yards and three touchdowns, rushing 15 times for 120 yards and a score.
It was his sixth career game of 4-plus touchdowns and his 10th career 100-yard rushing game.
With his performance, Williams became the eight player in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) history to total 100 career touchdowns, finishing the game with 101 – 72 passing, 29 rushing – in 43 games.
Mikesell had a standout performance in Friday night's 133-71 dual meet win over Edinboro, combining for three event victories. She won both the 100 and 200 yard freestyle with times of 53.97 and 1:58.72, respectively. Both were also PSAC qualifying times.
Mikesell also swam the third leg on the winning 200 yard medley relay.
