Carolyn Appleby were named the IUP Athletes of the Week, announced by the IUP Sports Information Office Monday morning.
This is the second IUP weekly award for Willis and the fifth career award for Appleby.
Willis scored three goals and totaled seven points in three matches last week, leading the Crimson Hawks to a pair of wins. She was responsible for all four IUP goals during the week.
She opened with a goal and assist in a 2-1 win at Gannon and followed that with both goals in the Crimson Hawks' 2-0 win at Mercyhurst the following day. It was her fourth 2-goal match of the season.
Willis finished the year ranked third in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) with 14 goals and 29 points. The 14 goals are tied for the ninth most in IUP single season history and are the second most by an IUP freshman.
Appleby started her season off on a high note, scoring a game-high 23 points in the Crimson Hawks' 72-50 exhibition loss at Ohio State Sunday afternoon.
Appleby shot 7-of-15 from the floor, made a 3-pointer, and went 8-of-9 from the foul line in 34 minutes of work against the defending Big Ten champs on their home floor. She also had four rebounds, two assists and a steal.
That was Appleby's second 20-point performance against a Division I opponent, as she dropped 20 in IUP's 73-68 win over Pitt in an exhibition game last year.
