Steve Long earns his IUP Athlete of the Week honor after a weekend in which he helped the Crimson Hawks to a third place finish at the 2014 PSAC Swimming Championships. The third place finish is the highest for the program since also finishing third back in 2005. Long's highlight includes his third consecutive 100 yard butterfly conference championship with a time of 48.70, just .09 seconds off his school record time. He also won the 200 yard butterfly, breaking the school mark with a time of 1:50.59. Both times were NCAA B standards. Long also swam legs in a pair of relays, as both the 200 and 400 yard medleys set new school records and finished second and fourth, respectively.
