A pair of sophomores in Armoni Foster and Paige Mikesell have been named IUP Athletes of the Week, which was announced by the IUP Sports Information Office Monday morning.
 
This is the second IUP weekly award for Foster, both this year, and the third overall for Mikesell.
 
Foster is coming off a big game on the offensive and defensive end of the court for the fifth-ranked IUP men's basketball team. The guard led all scorers with 19 points and posted a career-high seven steals in the Crimson Hawks' 108-41 blowout victory over Bethany College Sunday.
 
The seven steals are the most by an IUP player since 2013 and is tied for the fifth most by a single player in Division II this year. Foster shot 7-of-11 from the field, grabbed four rebounds and dished out four assists in 27 minutes.
 
Mikesell shined in the IUP women's swimming dual meet at Clarion Saturday, posting three of the Crimson Hawks' six individual event victories.
 
All three wins were Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying times as she took home top honors in the 100 freestyle (53.53), 200 freestyle (1:55.27) and the 100 butterfly (57.65). She also swam the third leg of the second place 200 medley relay squad.
