Down 2-0 after the first half, Kate Bruce opened up the scoring for IUP and led the field hockey team to a 4-2 victory over No. 9 Kutztown. Five minutes into the second half, Bruce netted her first goal of the game. She followed that up 11 minutes later, scoring another and tying the game at 2-2. The win was the first for the Crimson Hawks since the season opener on Sept. 7 at Newberry, they had fallen in six straight contests. They will return home Wednesday, Oct. 2 to take on No. 10 Slippery Rock in a 7 p.m. matchup at George P. Miller Stadium.
