Emily Pany (Coplay, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) tallied 24 digs and broke the PSAC career record but it wasn't enough to get IUP past host Gannon Saturday night in PSAC volleyball action.
Gannon (18-8, 11-6 PSAC) jumped out winning the first set 25-14, but IUP (20-9, 9-8) bounced back to win the second set 25-23. The Golden Knights took the next two sets by scores of 25-21 and 26-24.
In addition to Pany, two other Crimson Hawks added double digit digs.
Laura McFadden (Orefield, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) chipped in 20 digs, while
Ericka Lentz (Reading/Holy Name) added 17 digs to go with a team high nine kills.
Danielle Ostendorf (Rockford, IL/Boylan Catholic) and
Morgan Cerveny (Richfield, OH/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) each chipped in seven kills for IUP. Chelsea Kreinbrook set the offense with 29 assists.
The Crimson Hawks return to action on Friday when they host Mercyhurst in PSAC West action at 7 p.m. at Memorial Field House.
