Ashley Moyer (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) scored an early goal on a rain-soaked South Campus Soccer Field to help IUP shutout visiting Mercyhurst 2-0 Wednesday afternoon in PSAC soccer action.

Moyer wasted no time getting the Crimson Hawks (7-3-1, 5-3-1 PSAC) on the board when she took a pass from Melissa Kornock (Hatfield/North Penn) and buried the breakaway goal past Mercyhurst (6-5-1, 3-5-1 PSAC) goalie Rachel Greipsma.

Kornock extended her scoring streak to six games when she chipped in an insurance goal at 86:20 on a cross from Paige Virgara (Pittsburgh/Keystone Oaks) to set the final.

IUP got a sparkling performance from goalie Kelly Brennan (Middletown/Middletown) who made nine saves on her way to her fourth shutout of the season. With the nine saves Brennan becomes the all-time leader in saves with 382 at IUP passing Sarah Daw.

The Crimson Hawks return to action on Saturday when they travel to Gannon in a PSAC match.
