Crimson Hawks Season Ends in PSAC Playoffs at Cal

The IUP women's soccer team ended its season with a 2-0 loss at Cal Tuesday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the PSAC playoffs.

The Vulcans outshot the Crimson Hawks 9-3 in the first half but only took a 1-0 lead to the half on a goal by Sam Regney at 30:56.

Carley Work would add an insurance goal at 48:25 to set the final.

Paige Virgara (Pittsburgh/Keystone Oaks) and Heather Robbins (Frederica, DE/Polytech) each tallied a pair of shots. The Crimson Hawks also got shots form Allison Keller (Exton, Pa./Downingtown), Viann Heder (Vandergrift/Kiski Area), Lauren Mizik (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield), and Lindsay Lobevero (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott).

Kelly Brennan (Middletown/Middletown) made eight saves and played the full 90 minutes taking the loss in net for IUP.

The Crimson Hawks finished their season 9-8-1 overall while Cal will host Kutztown in the PSAC semifinals Friday.
