IUP Evens Match at Clarion with Second Game Win before Golden Eagles Pull Away

IUP won the second game to even up its PSAC volleyball match at Clarion, but the Golden Eagles swept the final two to claim a 3-1 victory over the Crimson Hawks Saturday at Tippin Gymnasium.

The loss dropped IUP to 11-4 overall and 3-3 in the PSAC while Clarion remained undefeated in five conference matches and improved to 12-1 overall.

Chelsey Kreinbrook (Dawson, Pa./Geibel Catholic) led the Crimson Hawks with a double-double, dishing out 33 assists while making 16 digs. Jessica Bodkin (Newport Beach, Calif./Newport Harbor) paced IUP in kills with 14, and Danielle Ostendorf (Rockford, IL/Boylan Catholic) had seven kills without an error and hit .350 for the match.

Emily Pany (Coplay, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) led the defense with 28 digs followed by Kreinbrook and Laura McFadden (Orefield, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) with 11. McFadden also had seven kills and Morgan Cerveny (Richfield, OH/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) had eight and a hitting percentage of .316.

The Crimson Hawks remain on the road Tuesday with a 7 p.m. match at California.
