Jessica Bodkin (Newport Beach, Calif./Newport Harbor) led the IUP attack with 58 kills as the Crimson Hawks opened the season 4-0 at the Davis & Elkins Spikefest over the weekend.
Bodkin added nine blocks to go along with 58 kills while junior
Danielle Ostendorf (Rockford, IL/Boylan Catholic) added 13 blocks and 39 kills. Both players had an exceptional game in the opener versus Texas A&M Kingsville. Bodkin recorded 19 kills and Ostendorf 14 kills in the 3-1 win.
IUP used a balanced attack against Lake Erie in a 3-1 win. Morgan Cervency tied with Bodkin for the team high nine kills.
Emily Pany (Coplay, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) added 24 digs for the Crimson Hawks.
Cerveny continued to roll with 12 kills and four blocks as IUP defeated West Virginia Wesleyan 3-1.
Laura McFadden (Orefield, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) had 20 digs to go along with seven kills and two blocks. Bodkin and Ostendorf each had 10 kills apiece.
The Crimson Hawks ran their record to 4-0 with a 3-2 win over Findlay.
Kadie Koeneman (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) recorded 24 digs, 17 kills and two blocks.
Chelsey Kreinbrook (Dawson, Pa./Geibel Catholic) had 55 set assists and Bodkin added 20 kills.
IUP looks to continue its hot start as it hosts the PSAC/WVIAC Crossover matches on Friday and Saturday.
