Ashton Smith (Scarborough, ON/West Hill Collegiate) paced the IUP offense scoring a game-high 18 points, 12 from the free throw line, helping the Crimson Hawks to a 66-54 win Monday night in PSAC crossover action.
Smith also added four rebounds, three helpers, and three steals.
Darryl Webb (Elkridge, Md./Long Reach) chipped in 15 points, seven rebounds, four steals and three blocks.
Julian Sanders (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) also reached double figures with 11 points, eight boards and two assists.
With 3:05 remaining in the first half the Crimson Hawks (7-2) led by three, 23-20. They took control of the game with a 12-5 run to close the half and make the score 35-25.
IUP led by double figures most of the second half building its largest lead of 17, 52-35 with 8:04 to play in the second half.
The Huskies (3-6) used a 17-7 run to shrink the lead to just seven, 59-52 with 1:25 on the clock.
The Crimson Hawks iced the win shooting 7 of 8 from the free throw line in the final 1:25 including 6 of 6 by Smith.
Bloomsburg was led by Lorenzo Christmas with 14 points and Trevon Johnson with 13 points. John Schwarz grabbed a game-high eight boards and added six points.
The Crimson Hawks return to action Tuesday when they travel to Mansfield.
