Vianca Tejada Leads Four Crimson Hawks in Double Figures in Win Over Bloomsburg

Vianca Tejada (Pennsauken, NJ/Cherry Hill East) led four IUP players in double figures with a career high 25 points off the bench to lift the Crimson Hawks to an 84-62 victory over Bloomsburg Monday night in PSAC crossover action.

Eryn Withers (Burtonsville, Md./Springbrook) chipped in 15 points to go with six rebounds and four assists. Lacey Claar (Imler, Pa./Claysburg-Kimmel) added 12 points, seven boards, six assists and four steals. Katelyn Marshall (Bowie, Md./Elizabeth Seton) also scored in double figures with eleven points and added four steals, four rebounds and four helpers.

The Crimson Hawks (5-4) scored the first bucket of the game, a 3-pointer from Marshall, and never looked back building their largest lead 37-14 with 7:33 to play in the first half. IUP took a 48-32 lead into the break.

Bloomsburg (7-2) was able to trim the lead to eight points 60-52 with 11:15 to play after a 20-12 run to open the half, but IUP went on a 24-10 run of its own to close out the victory.

The Crimson Hawks were 29-51 from the field good for 56.9 percent and made 15 of 17 from the charity stripe.

Dana Wieller paced Bloomsburg with 23 points and added seven rebounds. Alyssa Flanagan also reached double figures in scoring with 11 points.

The Crimson Hawks return to action Tuesday when they travel to Mansfield.
