Four Crimson Hawks Post Double Figures to Knock Off Mansfield

Four IUP player's reached double figures, led by Katelyn Marshall (Bowie, Md./Elizabeth Seton)'s game-high 16 as the Crimson Hawks picked up their fourth straight victory with a 71-43 win at Mansfield in PSAC crossover action Tuesday night.

Marshall also tied a career high in assists with six as the Crimson Hawks assisted on 22 of their 31 baskets and turned the ball over just seven times.

Sarah Pastorek (Johnstown/Bishop McCort) added 12 points along with seven rebounds, four steals and a pair of assists. Brianna Johnson (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) also chipped in 12 points, four boards, and two helpers. Eryn Withers (Burtonsville, Md./Springbrook) scored 11 points with five rebounds, four dimes and three steals.

Lacey Claar (Imler, Pa./Claysburg-Kimmel) added nine points, three rebounds, two steals and two assists. The two helpers moved her into fifth in school history with 326 passing Leah Simmons.

For the second consecutive night the Crimson Hawks came out of the gate strong starting the game on a 25-6  and never looking back. The IUP defense was stifling in the first half holding the Mounties to just 17 points.

IUP started the second half on a 9-2 run to build its largest lead of 31, 50-19 with 16:28 left on the clock.

The Mounties never got closer than 22 at 5:34, 60-38, the rest of the way.

Mallory Moore led the way for Mansfield scoring 10 points and grabbing seven rebounds on the night.

The Crimson Hawks return to action Saturday when they host East Stroudsburg  at 1 p.m. at Memorial Field House.
