Women’s Soccer Gains Shutout of Lock Haven

LOCK HAVEN, PA – Melissa Kornock (Hatfield/North Penn) scored a goal and assisted on another as IUP defeated Lock Haven 2-0 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon.

Kornock's assist came in the seventh minute when she dropped it to Heather Robbins (Frederica, DE/Polytech), who dribbled through the defense for the opening score of the game.

The Crimson Hawks (9-3-2, 7-3-2) added to the score in the 32nd minute when Kornock took a deep pass from Tonya Fabian (Pittsburgh/Thomas Jefferson) behind the defense and found the back of the net to go on top 2-0.

IUP outshot Lock Haven 12-4 in the first half, but tallied just five shots on goal compared to eight for the Bald Eagles in the second half.

IUP plays at Mercyhurst on Tuesday before hosting Bloomsburg on Saturday at South Campus Field.
