Hawks Drop in Three to Slippery Rock

SLIPPERY ROCK – Despite three players with seven kills each, IUP was unable to defeat Slippery Rock in tonight's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West volleyball match-up on Friday night.

The Crimson Hawks dropped the first set 25-17 and the second set 25-18, before keeping set three close, losing 25-20.

Beth Sova had the most efficient night for the Hawks, having the highest attack percentage of .375, along with seven kills and 16 total attacks, along with Sova Lauren Hester (State College, Pa. /State College) and Morgan Cerveny (Richfield, OH/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) also had seven kills. Stacey Root (York/Spring Grove) had a game high with 14 digs and no errors for the Hawks.

The Crimson Hawks are 9-15 and 3-9 in the PSAC-West will be back on the court visiting Clarion for a 12:00 p.m. match-up on Saturday.
